About The Position

The Engineering and Maintenance Technician is to provide engineering support and maintenance services as needed and/or assigned in support of plastics materials production. Performs minor and major repair of processing and support equipment (electrical and mechanical). Drive to understand root cause and countermeasure of faults and transfer knowledge back to manufacturing team for incorporation into processes. Assist production and manufacturing engineering with testing process definition and triage/debug processes. Performing a wide variety of maintenance activities and addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns. Performs routine and extensive preventive maintenance and repair procedures on mechanical equipment, utility systems, processing equipment, and materials handling equipment. This position is fulltime onsite at our flagship manufacturing facility located in Rock Hill, SC

Requirements

  • 2-year Technical Degree, Trade School or equivalent experience required
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical or electrical fabrication experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with skilled tradesmen and/or engineers for the purpose of completing projects efficiently.
  • Design and complete small fabrication projects involving mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Install system component parts for the purpose of providing a safe and workable environment.
  • Maintain tools and measurement equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability and are in safe operating condition.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Perform a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
  • Prepare written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
  • Respond to emergency situations and equipment break downs during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
  • Conduct maintenance tasks on all equipment in manufacturing
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment in manufacturing on required schedule; sets required schedules if not predetermined
