About The Position

INFICON is a leading provider of innovative instrumentation, critical sensor technologies, and Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 software solutions that enhance productivity and quality of tools, processes, and complete factories. These analysis, measurement and control products are essential for gas leak detection in air conditioning/refrigeration and automotive manufacturing. They are vital to equipment manufacturers and end-users in the complex fabrication of semiconductors and thin film coatings for optics, flat panel displays, solar cells and industrial vacuum coating applications. Other users of our vacuum-based processes include the life sciences, research, aerospace, packaging, heat treatment, laser cutting and many other industrial processes. We also leverage our expertise in vacuum technology to provide unique, toxic chemical analysis products for emergency response, security, and environmental health and safety. The position of Manufacturing Technician will support our vacuum gauge production line in a specialized laboratory environment filled with sophisticated equipment. You will be the first lineof defense when things go wrong, keeping the production line running and minimizing downtime. You will also help us develop new processes, update work instructions, and continuously improve our manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or technical maintenance environment.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic systems in a production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, shift gears as needed, and manage multiple responsibilities to meet production goals.
  • A passion for learning, technology, and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom or controlled laboratory environment.
  • Positive, self-motivated personality with a service-oriented attitude that contributes to our culture of trust and collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience with vacuum technologies and/or the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a solid understanding of our current vacuum gauge product lines and the specialized equipment used in our production laboratory.
  • Responds quickly to production line issues, troubleshooting equipment failures and process deviations to minimize line-down situations.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment following established maintenance schedules.
  • Works alone or in teams to develop new processes, update work instructions, and improve existing manufacturing methods.
  • Maintains and updates maintenance schedules, equipment documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partners with Engineering to support root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Learns new processes and technologies as our product lines evolve, adapting quickly to support changing production needs.
  • Assists with the setup, calibration, and qualification of test equipment and production tooling.
  • Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure production issues are resolved in a timely manner.
