About The Position

In the Manufacturing Engineering Technician role, you’ll provide hands-on support to Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality and Maintenance. This role supports finishing, assembly, wiring, prototype/rework activities, tooling, fixtures, 3D printing and process documentation. You’ll help engineers test process changes, collect production feedback, document issues, support equipment and tooling needs, and assist with improvements that make products easier, safer and more efficient to manufacture.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, finishing, assembly, maintenance, fabrication, paint, coating, polishing, prototype or related technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, tools, fixtures, process setup, troubleshooting or quality support.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, specifications and inspection criteria.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools, fixtures, equipment and measuring devices.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with visual quality, fit, finish appearance and process consistency.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with production, engineering, quality and maintenance teams.
  • Ability to work independently within established procedures and escalate issues when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with finishing processes such as polishing, buffing, cleaning, lacquer, paint, powder coating, patina, plating or surface preparation preferred.
  • Experience with assembly, wiring, light fabrication, rework, prototype builds, tooling or 3D printing preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support finishing operations including polishing, cleaning, surface preparation, lacquer, paint, powder coating, patina and related processes.
  • Set up, test, adjust and troubleshoot tools, fixtures, equipment and process settings.
  • Assist with finishing process trials, sample preparation, visual finish reviews and approved process adjustments.
  • Help design, fabricate, modify or maintain simple fixtures, jigs, templates, masking, racking and production aids.
  • Assist with prototype builds, sample preparation, pilot builds and process trials.
  • Collect and document feedback from assembly, wiring and finishing teams for engineer review.
  • Manage 3D printer requests, material inventory and routine printer maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area while following all safety, chemical handling and PPE requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
