About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician II (MET2) performs all aspects of automated manufacturing equipment repair, troubleshooting, calibration, and preventative maintenance procedures on equipment. This position also assists engineers in developing and refining manufacturing processes. The MET2 must be able to work effectively under limited supervision. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Technician Supervisor or site equivalent.

Requirements

Technical degree or certificate
3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a high-volume, applicable industry
Working knowledge of PLCs’ inputs and outputs
Working knowledge of pneumatic adjustments
Working knowledge of hydraulics, including the theory of regulation and flow, valve configurations, troubleshooting, and purge systems
Working knowledge of common engineering testing procedures (DOE’s, PFMEA’s, etc.)
Working knowledge of engineering documentation, and reports
Ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and management in a team-oriented environment
Ability to understand all policies, procedures, instructions, rules, and regulations (including all safety training and safety information) associated with this position that are written in English
Ability to appropriately respond to and, where needed, provide reports, presentations, information, and communications in English
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written and diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret complex data, drawings, schematics to design and implement new equipment or plan new experiments
Ability to generate, adaptation or modification of process controls, procedures, and other related documentation
Ability to interpret complex data for designing new devices or planning new experiments
Ability to understand and apply DSSA, Inc. documentation including SOP, MI, PS, PMP, MSP, etc.

Responsibilities

Follow standard OSHA and company-specific safety procedures and protocols
Troubleshoot automation systems, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, sensors, vacuum, VFD, and hydraulic
Use the CMMS system to record and investigate maintenance history
Understand and create instructions, including preventive maintenance and operating procedures
Monitor and correct equipment faults in real-time to ensure high production performance; troubleshoot automation systems
Troubleshoot heating systems
Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance and inspection activities
Uses the PLC to diagnose and troubleshoot electronic devices
Read and redline mechanical drawings; use power and hand mechanical tools and test equipment
Replace both servo and stepper motors, diagnose motor drive systems
Install and maintain equipment with circuits up to 480 volts; Install, repair, replace wiring, including low voltage I/O, dedicated cable sets, and control panels; Interpret schematics for troubleshooting; Understand common industrial electrical components
