About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports the technical aspects of manufacturing, replacement or upgrades of tooling, new product process development and continuous improvement projects using Lean principles. The ideal candidate would be an individual that has experience with manufacturing processes, strong computer skills and a passion for developing solutions or improving manufacturing/fabrication processes. You will be set up for success, provided with training and industrial knowledge on manufacturing processes which will make you an integral member of the Manufacturing Engineering team. The candidate will learn how to correctly route parts through our manufacturing processes, as well as work with manufacturing to help implement improvements. Simply put, we are investing time and money into developing the most elite Manufacturing Engineering team in the Telescopic Seating Industry. Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, make commitments, and manage several concurrent projects through to completion.
  • Ability to produce professional, clearly presented calculation packages.
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude – fasteners, machine design, hydraulics.
  • Desire for continuous learning, willing to accept new challenges and ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
  • Desire to innovate and improve already functioning systems with the latest manufacturing technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with a broad range of individuals, from the shop floor worker to senior management

Nice To Haves

  • Design and manufacturing experience utilizing the following materials and manufacturing processes preferred: structural steel, plywood, sheet steel stamping and forming, welding.

Responsibilities

  • Innovate and implement design for Manufacturing solutions encompassing Process Safety, Built-In-Quality, and Productivity.
  • Establish routings, create process documentation, perform time studies, determine labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting of current operations.
  • Gather data on manufacturing processes, analyze data to look for trends that can be used to develop process improvements.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with New Product Introduction Teams supporting manufacturing process development and commercialization.
  • Apply electronic tools across a broad range of applications, including AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, MS Word, ERP Systems
  • Learn and apply Lean Manufacturing tools, Processes, and Behaviors
  • Improve material flow and material presentation.
  • Participate in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity, and efficiency.
