IEM Canada is seeking experienced and hard-working individuals to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician. Position Summary: This role is responsible for the assembly of metal-based modular work bench/material storage systems for use on the manufacturing floor work centers. This position shall work closely with staff from operations, continuous improvement, quality & process engineering teams to deliver required work bench/material storage systems as defined. This position will report to the Engineering Tech Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, electromechanics, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably in electrical or industrial equipment.
Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical systems, components, and demonstrate proficiency using hand tools, and power tools.
Ability to interpret assembly drawings, electrical schematics and work independently
Mechanical aptitude (Ability to work quickly with your hands while maintaining accuracy and high quality)
Strong work ethic and motivation to learn
Must be a team player
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to safety standards and procedures.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately assemble metal-based modular work bench/material storage system equipment.
Use multiple measuring devices such as scales, feeler gauges, rulers, micrometers, calipers tee square, machinist square and tape measure to accurately and precisely perform work.
Mount electrical components including lights, switches, motors, relays, contactors, terminals, Input/Output devices as required for desired work bench operation.
Drilling, tapping, punching, mounting and installing modular components per drawings or instructions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and process changes.
Collaborate in workbench/material replenishment system design development/re-design/modifications) to help meet desired requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing process efficiency, reducing waste, and improving overall production outcomes.
Support Lean Manufacturing principles and other improvement methodologies.
Comply with all safety, quality and work rules, guidelines and regulations.
