About The Position

Supports manufacturing by preparing, maintaining and updating programming, tooling, jigs/fixtures, and production instructions in order to keep production process running safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent technical school training AND three to five years related experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift certification, Lockout/tag out certification; Calibration expertise
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability to drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tooling accuracy, efficiency and upkeep
  • Calibrate a variety of tooling and measuring devices
  • Repair or replace defective tooling
  • Build and maintain jigs and fixtures for production use
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure that sharpening equipment continues to run smoothly and accurately
  • Contact and collaborate with vendors and order tooling within an established budget
  • Maintain an adequate supply of tooling and measuring devices at appropriate levels, monitor tooling and measuring device accuracy and maintain corresponding records
  • Works with Product Development to determine tooling requirements for new products
  • Responsible for efficient/safe equipment operation
  • Work with maintenance technicians, safety manager, quality personnel and production supervisors to monitor and maintain accurate, efficient and safe operation of equipment machinery and production processes
  • Assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes or procedures
  • Create and maintain work instructions, production routes, operation and troubleshooting instructions for production machinery, equipment and processes
  • Program CNC equipment; adjust programs to assure accuracy
  • Train technician and production personnel on proper use instructions and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and procedures
  • Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Assists Maintenance and Process Control in determining root cause of machine malfunctions.
  • Provides resource information and expertise to manufacturing to determine tool set-up and machine tool capabilities.
