About The Position

Operate as a member of multidisciplinary teams to install and commission manufacturing equipment, maintain positive control of project materials, and facilitate the work of contract labor and/or vendor installation teams. The manufacturing engineering technician’s primary responsibility is to execute and facilitate accomplishment of project tasks in accordance with the project schedule. This role continuously drives culture change and acceptance of Lean Manufacturing principles across the organization, facilitates systematic problem solving and implementing solutions to solve the root-cause of problems related to non-conforming material and corrective action processes, and provides guidance for root cause analysis and corrective action to all levels within the organization. Supports manufacturing with the implementation of efficient and reliable Lean Manufacturing processes and supports and leads Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S workshop activities and events. Inspires and encourages the use of best practices throughout the organization. Engages plant management and employees in conceptualizing, planning, implementing, and sustaining continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing tools. Frequently follows up with appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely and effective implementation and sustainability of continuous improvement projects. Assists with leadership to include identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects. Collects and monitors activities to assess trends and opportunities to provide proactive recommendations. Assists with establishing the measuring and tracking process for each initiative and provides timely reports to all stakeholders. Installs, tests, and commissions capital equipment ensuring that product design requirements are met per manufacturer and AAON procedures. Provides technical training and cross training on all shifts to process leaders, line mechanics, and operating teams. Creates and maintains manufacturing routings, performs cycle time and time study analyses, and possesses detailed knowledge of operations processes, facilities, services, practices, procedures, and terminology, as well as operations machinery, equipment, materials, and tools.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or Two-Year Degree from an Engineering Technical School
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in industrial operations setting or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Electrical experience
  • Mechanical experience
  • Machinist experience
  • Possess detailed knowledge of operations processes, facilities, services, practices, procedures and terminology
  • Possess detailed knowledge of operations machinery, equipment, materials and tools
