About The Position

Key Technology in Walla Walla, WA is a worldwide leader in food processing technology. As a global industrial manufacturing company, our ongoing innovations provide increased control, continuous processing, sorting, automated inspection, specialized conveying, and grading and sizing, in processed fruits and vegetables, nuts, dried fruit, fresh-cut produce and more. We are looking for a motivated Intern to join our Manufacturing Engineering Team! The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will be responsible for conducting Value Stream Map exercises, driving subsequent cost savings opportunities and developing process documents. This will involve working on the factory floor to collect data on observed processes along with interacting with operators. With this data, a best practices process would be defined and ultimately implemented back on the factory floor.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering degree at least a Junior in standing
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Able to communicate effectively at a factory floor level
  • Technical report writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Familiar with CAD
  • Comfortable with working in a factory setting
