About The Position

Eaton’s PCD Power Components Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join the team at the Horseheads, NY location. This role will lead the Manufacturing Engineering function to support plant objectives in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role serves as the bridge between technical execution and business strategy by driving process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing methods, automation solutions, and capital projects that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality and compliance with all applicable standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering; including the following areas: Manufacturing Management, Total Quality Management, Planning, Statistical Process Control, Purchasing, Inventory Management and Control, Lean Manufacturing systems and tools
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience (can include projects or as a leader of people)
  • Must be highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite programs and AutoCAD

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Manufacturing Engineering team; set clear goals aligned with the Eaton Business System and Horseheads plant objectives, and track performance against those goals.
  • Develop, coach, and motivate team members to drive performance, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Design, develop, and implement integrated manufacturing systems, processes, and workflows to improve productivity, reduce cost, and ensure competitiveness.
  • Analyze production and operational data to identify inefficiencies, eliminate waste, and improve cost performance and throughput.
  • Optimize facility layout, equipment utilization, and material flow to improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Lead the execution of the Eaton Quality System within Manufacturing Engineering to ensure consistent product quality and process control.
  • Drive compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS/MESH) requirements by partnering with site EHS leadership and ensuring adherence to all corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Lead capacity planning and manage the annual capital plan for VI manufacturing; develop business cases, control budgets, and ensure effective execution of capital projects.
  • Support strategic planning by developing and maintaining 5-year plans for quality, manufacturing technology, lean initiatives, and capital investment.
  • Serve as the Industry 4.0 champion by defining and executing the plant digitalization roadmap.
  • Plan and execute engineering projects, equipment implementations, and new product introductions from concept through launch.
  • Provide technical guidance in the selection of suppliers, contractors, and equipment to ensure alignment with plant requirements and standards.
