The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for all technical issues related to process development and production of engine components in the assigned Business Unit. Requirements

  • A Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field.
  • 5+ year’s exposure to engineering and manufacturing operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Analytical, problem solving and mathematic skills
  • Demonstrate skill and success in team leadership, facilitation and coaching skills
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, policies and procedures governing manufacturing engineering support requirements as well as work instruction documentation for manufacturing processes
  • Must be flexible relative to department assignment and availability for off-shift work
  • Demonstrate flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous assignments
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritize
  • Excellent computer skills
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Responsibilities

  • Lead business unit’s Mfg. Readiness Level efforts to improve defect rates and process controls
  • Coach and lead proficiency development of engineering team
  • Accountable for process improvements/development utilizing CORE operating system
  • Work with production to ensure processes, enable material flow and standard work
  • Lead and execute on cost reduction initiatives and EHS strategies
  • Successfully manage the unit’s capital, tooling, and engineering labor budgets
  • Collaborate with program offices, component product teams, customer representatives and operations management
  • Develop business cases for cost reduction, new work initiatives & capital improvements projects and provide leadership to execute to plan
