Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Job Summary Perform engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
Requirements
- Must be currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in an engineering field
- Proficient in 3D CAD Design software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Basic knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning software (SAP and IQMS preferred)
- Willing to be hands on in the manufacturing facility
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Self-Motivated and the ability to multitask
Responsibilities
- Assist with validation activities such as IQ/OQ/PQ testing for new mold tools or equipment
- Measure parts, perform functional testing, perform data analysis, and write qualification report
- 5S Production Floor Tape out area using 5S principles for proper flow and safety in production.
- Set up new conveyor systems for use in production.
- Determine ways to reduce conversion costs
- Organize WIP and Finished Goods areas
- Check 2D and 3D engineering drawings to ensure compliance to Nordson standards.
- Verify with molded parts that drawings are correct
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities
- Prepare and update work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process documentation.
- Develop Bill of Materials and manufacturing routings
- Perform other duties as assigned.
