Our Edgewood, MD location is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our summer 2027 internship program. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting assembly operations, process improvement initiatives, and continuous improvement projects. This internship offers exposure to the full manufacturing process, from product receipt through assembly, storage, material handling, and distribution.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college program pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in manufacturing operations, assembly processes, and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment, with a proactive attitude toward learning, supporting team goals, and participating in improvement efforts.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as Pro/Engineer (Creo), SolidWorks, or similar software is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement projects focused on assembly line processes, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct time studies and analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Assist with evaluating product flow, material handling, storage methods, and distribution processes.
• Spend time on the production floor observing assembly operations and partnering with team members to understand challenges and identify solutions.
• Review assembly fixtures, tools, and workstation layouts to improve ergonomics, safety, and productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain process improvements.
