About The Position

The Parker Engineering Internship Program develops new talent by exposing interns to product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and operations. This hands-on internship at Parker Hannifin’s Hydraulic Pump & Motor Division in Greeneville, Tennessee, focuses on daily engineering challenges and longer-term improvement projects involving products, components, and processes. The intern will use problem-solving tools, analysis methods, analytical evaluation, and hands-on validation to develop and assess solutions. The position provides experience in analyzing problems, proposing and implementing changes, and validating outcomes using data-driven decisions, as well as insight into the work of an engineering department supporting a large manufacturing facility.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or advanced degree program in an engineering field.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to review data and recommend practical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work with others as a collaborative team member.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice To Haves

• Presentation and facilitation skills.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety requirements.
• Assist with the design, development, and improvement of products and processes under the guidance of the engineering team.
• Help identify and solve equipment, product, or system issues using theoretical and practical knowledge.
• Work with production, quality, maintenance, and other departments to ensure technical solutions are properly implemented.
• Participate in and coordinate prototype builds as needed to support customer opportunities and business improvement projects.
• Work with engineers to review test requirements and test setups.
• Communicate technical inquiry results to team members and provide documentation for future reference.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
