About The Position
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern assists the Manufacturing Engineering department in achieving manufacturing goals and supporting continuous improvement efforts. The intern is encouraged to contribute ideas and suggestions. The role combines office-based administrative work with activity in field or production environments. Oshkosh Delivery designs and manufactures advanced delivery vehicles, with a focus on reliability, driver experience, and technology.
Requirements
- Currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or another related Engineering field.
- Completed at least sophomore-year coursework or equivalent.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in welding, machining, or fabrication.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with 3D printing.
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Exposure to Lean and 5S concepts.
- Mechanical, manufacturing, or assembly skills.
Responsibilities
- Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
- Improve material handling methods.
- Perform time studies.
- Perform workstation and cell analyses to improve productivity and quality.
- Provide technical support to production personnel.
- Provide input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
- Assist with plant layout and workstation design.
- Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
- Create documentation for new product launches.
