About The Position

This position contributes to Hemlock Semiconductor's (HSC) ongoing work and long-term success by supporting teams, processes, and priorities that keep operations running effectively. This role is open to qualified and highly committed students enrolled in college located locally to the Hemlock Semiconductor site. It allows the selected student to work side-by-side with engineers and skilled professionals to assist with optimization efforts to improve yield, maximize throughput, maintain quality, and increase process safety and reliability. This role is a year-round position while the student is simultaneously taking classes.

Requirements

  • Effective organizational skills leading to proper prioritization and coordination of multiple activities
  • Knowledge / Expertise in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams)
  • Good oral & written communication skills

  • Ability to deliver a quality product, pay attention to details, prioritize tasks, and follow through on details to completion
  • Candidate should be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done, ask for clarity or additional instruction when needed, and be able to work independently as well as cooperative with the team

  • High School Diploma
  • Enrolled in college or university STEM program, preferably engineering
  • Candidate must be attending a local college or university pursuing a STEM degree with preference given to engineering
  • Candidate must be attending a local 2-year college or 4-year university.
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during the Fall and Winter semesters.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative 2.70 GPA or higher to be part of the co-op program.
  • Candidate must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours and not more than 28 hours during Fall and Winter school semesters.
  • Summers could be up to 40 hours per week if a business need exists.
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Developing an understanding of the manufacturing processes
  • Updating and distributing operational documentation
  • Evaluating process performance and communication status
  • Participating on project teams for implementing process improvements
