About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op, you will support a variety of engineering and manufacturing initiatives. This role involves engineering project support, process improvement, data analysis, documentation and process development, equipment and manufacturing support, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring safety and compliance. You will work on meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and gain hands-on experience that will help build a strong foundation for your engineering career.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data-driven problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous co-op, internship, or project experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience working with ERP systems or manufacturing software.
  • SolidWorks certification or advanced CAD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to review and update tolerancing on released assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Design Engineering, and Production teams to ensure engineering changes are fully vetted, documented, and compliant with customer requirements.
  • Support manufacturing technicians in identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance production efficiency, quality, and overall performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing and process data using Minitab, Microsoft Excel, and other analytical tools.
  • Identify trends, investigate issues, and provide data-driven recommendations to support informed decision-making.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Assist with the maintenance, calibration, and optimization of manufacturing equipment to ensure reliable operation and performance.
  • Support ongoing production activities and engineering projects.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Production, and R&D teams to support business objectives and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
