About The Position

As Manufacturing Engineer Co-op/Intern, you will support our Manufacturing, Design, and Engineering Teams in our world-class facility. Every Day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you will make a difference by assisting manufacturing with implementation of safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements, designing fixtures, carts, and tooling, researching and justifying new capital equipment using A3 methodology, creating methods for standard work procedures, participating in Rapid Improvement (Kaizen) events, recognizing and helping with problem solving efforts, assisting with preventative maintenance procedures, and working with design engineers to implement design changes.

Requirements

• Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or related field. 2nd year + preferred
• Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting & forming, painting, assembly and serviceability.
• Utilization of Lean Manufacturing concepts

Nice To Haves

• 3D modeling experience with AutoCAD or Creo is a plus
• Mechanical/construction aptitude and hands-on design a plus
• Experience in fixture design (part specific tables and tools to help with manufacturing practices)
• Background in 3D printing is a plus
