This role provides support for key company initiatives such as lean implementation, downtime elimination, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE). The co-op will work with subject matter experts to measure current process performance, analyze results, develop improvement ideas, and run experiments or trials to improve results. Responsibilities may include new process implementation, developing procedures, completing problem analysis, and job safety analysis. The co-op will also work with engineering and shop floor teams to identify and design fixtures to improve manufacturability, and interface with Engineers to introduce new products to the plant and troubleshoot production problems. Additionally, the role involves examining documents like blueprints and specifications, preparing Engineering Work Orders (EWOs), and preparing reports and memorandums. The co-op may also interact with vendors and assist in the evaluation of capital investments and cost justifications.
