About The Position

Join Caterpillar's Electric Power Division as a Manufacturing Engineer supporting the production of Caterpillar Switchgear. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field OR equivalent manufacturing engineering experience.
Working knowledge of techniques and processes of automation; ability to develop and deploy automation solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
Evaluates manufacturing operations to identify automation and process improvement opportunities.
Implements and supports automation technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
Analyzes manufacturing data to measure performance and drive fact-based decision making.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges through automation and innovation.
Working knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Applies an assigned technique for critical thinking in a decision-making process.
Identifies, obtains, and organizes relevant data and ideas.

Experience in electrical control panel manufacturing and the ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Experience applying automation, PLCs, robotics, or digital manufacturing technologies to improve manufacturing operations.
Proficiency with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, or other manufacturing analytics tools.
Demonstrated success leading process improvement, manufacturing optimization, and capital project initiatives.

Manage manufacturing engineering projects from concept through implementation, including capital investments and process improvements.
Develop and maintain manufacturing standards, procedures, documentation, and technical specifications.
Apply critical thinking and engineering expertise to identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
Support future-state manufacturing strategies through automation, standardization, and workforce cross-training initiatives.
