About The Position

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer serves as the primary technical resource supporting air-cooled chiller manufacturing operations. The role improves manufacturing processes, resolves complex production issues, supports new product introductions, and drives continuous improvement across mechanical assembly, electrical integration, controls systems, and product testing. The engineer works closely with Operations, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Product Engineering to establish safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing processes that meet customer quality, delivery, and cost expectations. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving product design, assembly processes, controls, and testing. This is a 100% onsite, second-shift position. Depending on business needs, the schedule will be either Monday–Thursday, 10 hours per day, from 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM, or Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. The shift is not expected to change unless rotation is needed for coverage. The employee must be available to work overtime as needed to support production; overtime requirements are subject to change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering or automation experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profinet, or Modbus.
  • Familiarity with MES integration and data collection systems.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for air-cooled chiller production operations.
  • Lead resolution of complex manufacturing issues involving mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, controls, and testing processes.
  • Identify and eliminate manufacturing constraints affecting safety, quality, delivery, or cost.
  • Support production teams in achieving operational performance objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and factory testing.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with Industrial Engineering on factory flow, capacity, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot electrical assemblies, control panels, wiring systems, sensors, actuators, and communication networks.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and controls documentation to support manufacturing operations.
  • Support root cause investigations into electrical, controls, and software-related production issues.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for electrical assembly and test operations.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues involving refrigeration systems, piping, structural assemblies, and electromechanical components.
  • Support process improvements involving assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and material presentation.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
  • Support new product launches through process development, production readiness activities, and manufacturing validation.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are capable of meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements before launch.
