About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the design and build of tooling, fixturing and automation for the manufacture Of new and current products as well as evaluate production processes and recommend and implement improvements. The candidate will generate work instructions for various processes across the factory. The candidate will also interface with outside tooling/fixturing and equipment suppliers, manage and troubleshoot equipment, and work closely with other members of the engineering team on projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 0 -5 years’ experience in manufacturing quality engineering, process engineering or product engineering
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to satisfy AFSI ITAR requirements.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and manufacturing activities including methods improvement, FMEAs, SPC, capability studies, failure analysis, tooling, plant layout, work flow, manufacturing cost control and reduction
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Tools; Value Stream Mapping, 5s, Standardized Work, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Error Proofing, Set up Reduction, Continuous Flow
  • Proactive with desire to improve organization performance
  • Must be skilled in AutoCad, Solid Edge or equivalent CAD tools
  • Familiarity with GD&T is required
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence & negotiate at all levels
  • Strong project management skillset; detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong understanding of best practices in customer service

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cable assemblies
  • Design fixtures and tools related to improving the overall manufacture of cable assemblies
  • Research and choose equipment to produce cable assemblies for higher quality and productivity
  • Work closely with production and operations teams to make improvements to cable assembly processes and methods.
  • Validate cable assembly designs and methods
  • Review customer specification/assembly drawings and translate to production drawing.
  • Facilitate and perform training on manufacturing cable assembly processes
  • Develop specifications and analyze supplier quotations for purchasing of new components used on cable assemblies.
