About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing and improving manufacturing processes to make production more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective for the Precision Fires GMLRS program in Camden, AR. The role requires the ability to work a Night Shift (8:00pm - 6:30am) starting on a Monday night. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience/combine education.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing setting.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools and machines.
  • Knowledgeable of Assembly Manufacturing Processes.
  • Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA or equivalent).

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service skills to communicate to the shop floor and train operators.
  • Interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications including Geometric and Dimensional Tolerances (GD&T).

Responsibilities

  • Designing and improving manufacturing processes to make production more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.
  • Promoting safety practices on the shop floor and eliminating safety risks.
  • Troubleshooting production issues using failure mode effects and analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions (RC/CA).
  • Implementing continuous improvement projects using 6S and Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions, and Bill of Materials (BoM).
  • Incorporating configuration changes on existing procedures and verifying alignment with engineering requirements.
  • Designing new tools and maintaining existing tooling/equipment.
  • Project management experience in writing a business case, developing estimates, reporting schedule, and coordinating tasks between multiple functions.
