About The Position

The selected candidate will be responsible for performing floor support to resolve immediate production constraints, developing corrective actions to enhance the production system by reducing Scrap Rework and Repair (SRR) and hours per unit (HPU), updating the manufacturing plan, and performing manufacturing evaluations of engineering changes. This role also involves providing technical support for Production Operations (Mechanics, etc.) to assist with product flow, creating cost reduction initiatives, and performing other standard Manufacturing Engineering tasks such as Tool Trial Runs, Work Around Plans, and Supplemental Tool Design. This is a Second Shift Position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related focus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Experience reading engineering blueprints / specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing Engineering Experience or Support Roles (IE, QE, MRB) on F-35 Joint Strike Fighter or similar military fighter jets.
  • Problem Solving Skills - Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop workaround plans or corrective action plans.
  • Green Belt or White Belt Certified.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and cross functional teams; Production Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, Supply Chain.
  • 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience. (Example: AutoCAD, CATIA, etc...)
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Update the manufacturing plan.
  • Perform manufacturing evaluations of engineering changes.
  • Provide Technical support for Production Operations (Mechanics, etc.) to assist with Product Flow.
  • Create cost reduction initiatives.
  • Other Manufacturing Engineering standard work (Tool Trial Runs, Work Around Plans, Supplemental Tool Design, etc.).
