The Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift ACV Assembly/Test will support the assembly area of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle program on 2nd Shift. In this role, you will spend the majority of your time, up to 90%, on the shop floor resolving manufacturing related issues. You may interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. The Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift ACV Assembly/Test: Applies basic knowledge of the design and mechanical systems to solve manufacturing and engineering problems. Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations. May deliver technical presentations. Performs technical analysis, testing, calculations Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure that the product built conforms to technical design package specifications. Applies basic lean/six sigma principles to drive improvements to production processes. Interacts with employees located at multiple facilities across the country. This role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.
