About The Position

Sonaca North America is seeking multiple Assemblers for their 2nd shift. Assemblers will be responsible for drilling and deburring parts, and assembling component parts by installing ground studs, attaching nutplates, or bonding. The role requires adherence to the Quality Policy, Mission Statement, and other company policies to ensure customer satisfaction, quality products, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability, and respect for people.

Requirements

• High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates without will be required to take a pre-employment assessment.
• 2+ years of Assembly experience with sheet metal.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to follow work instructions and assemble parts.
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members.
• Skilled at using a variety of small hand tools.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor, including eye, ear, and foot protection.
• May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous aircraft experience or sheet metal work is preferred.
• Prior experience with blueprints and precision measuring devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drilling and deburring parts to prepare them for assembly.
• Assembling component parts, including attaching parts together by installing ground studs, attaching nutplates, or bonding.
• Working from and following process specifications, work orders, blueprints, rework/rejection tags, schedules, schematics, layout & modification sheets, engineering orders, and verbal/written instructions.
• Interpreting documents and instructions to determine the sequence and methods for assembling and repairing sheet metal products.
• Pulling parts from bins and reporting shortages to the Supervisor.
• Working with different gauges and types of sheet metal aluminum according to product specifications.
• Cleaning components and loading them onto jigs/fixtures.
• Drilling, reaming, riveting, fitting, countersinking, adjusting, finishing, and inspecting parts to ensure specifications are met.
• Trimming, filing, grinding, deburring, buffing, and smoothing surfaces.
• Calling for inspection.
• Working off rework to engineering to eliminate non-conformance.
• Scrutinizing all aspects of the job and reporting improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to the Supervisor.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
