About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer will be a system expert for Powdered Metal Pressing and Sizing Operations. This role involves a deep understanding of each press's setup, operation, and maintenance. The engineer will monitor the operational condition of all presses, assist in troubleshooting press operations and repairs, and analyze performance data to develop process improvements. This position will also provide input on press operation for work instructions and process documentation, and maintain a library of Setup Masters for all presses. The role requires taking the lead in the set-up, testing, validation, and operation of new equipment, leading problem-solving teams for operational or customer concerns, and providing advice for new product feasibility and tool design. Additionally, the engineer will lead the development of press programs for new part launches and product development, lead capital projects for press acquisition or disposal, and provide input for plant floor equipment layout. The position supports all manufacturing shifts during the week and potentially weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred.
  • 5+ years’ related work experience in Powdered Metal manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience in the automotive industry or in a global manufacturing company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a high energy level.
