The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the design, development, improvement, troubleshooting, implementation, and evaluation of processes and equipment. This role involves helping to develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and systems, as well as improving new and existing manufacturing equipment and processes. The engineer will support daily operational problems through hands-on troubleshooting using root cause analysis and corrective/preventive measures, and coordinate the implementation of product design changes. Participation in FMEA development and improvements is also a key responsibility. The role includes overseeing and coordinating the design and build of production equipment, jigs, and fixtures to improve operator safety, reduce labor, enhance quality, and minimize waste. Analysis of equipment operations, processes, and procedures is required to improve production efficiency, ergonomics, safety, workflow, layout, and maintenance. The engineer will support continuous improvement initiatives, driving Lean and 5S principles, and participate in the development and review of processes and work instructions to ensure accuracy and standardization. Ensuring equipment accuracy, reliability, and efficiency through preventative maintenance procedures is also crucial.
