About The Position

This role is for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for driving quality controls and improvements for the site, while also developing their technical expertise. The position involves both quality assurance and quality control, covering products, services, and manufacturing processes. This includes ensuring conformance in manufacturing, managing incoming goods control, conducting product inspection, and overseeing witness points. The engineer will broaden their technical knowledge to implement policy and strategy, and may provide support in specialized technical fields while acquiring higher-level skills. The role requires a basic understanding of business drivers to accomplish tasks and a good grasp of how their team's work integrates with other teams. There is some autonomy for decision-making within established frameworks, and the engineer will resolve issues using technical knowledge and judgment, consulting senior team members for complex situations. Good interpersonal skills are essential, and the role may involve leading a junior team. For customer-facing aspects, the engineer will build strong customer relationships and act as an interface, explaining technical information effectively.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
Ability to prove status as a U.S. Person (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee or refugee status) due to access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

Drive quality controls and improvements for the site.
Own both quality assurance and quality control.
Ensure quality assurance of products, services, and manufacturing processes.
Manage conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, and witness points.
Broaden knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
Provide support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
Use basic understanding of key business drivers to accomplish own work.
Understand how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Make decisions within a defined framework (may have some autonomy).
Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
Lead a junior team (if required).
Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE (for customer facing roles).
Explain technical information to others.
