About The Position

A Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing and developing tools, fixtures, and processes to support existing products and new product development initiatives. These will include but are not limited to: CNC programming along with tooling/fixturing development, Robotic/Gantry material handling cells, Electrical panel design, PLC programming, Plant layouts / material flow, and Equipment manuals.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical area (electrical engineering preferred).
  • 8+ years of engineering experience required.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and GD&T.
  • Experience in procurement of manufacturing systems and equipment required.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC programming experience is a strong plus.
  • Heat treat experience is a strong plus.
  • Professional experience in manufacturing engineering in an automated machining environment is desirable.
  • Formal training in robotic systems and other automated systems is desirable (Fanuc preferred).
  • 3D modeling experience is desirable (PTC Creo III preferred).
  • Hands-on experience in tooling & fixturing methods is desirable.
  • Production experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the engineering design process (concept, design, drawing creation, build, document), installation, MPAP, and long-term technical support of the manufacturing processes, meeting quality, capability, cost, and time targets.
  • Develop and implement capital or expense projects, including researching new and established manufacturing technologies, planning capital and time needed for implementation, writing CER proposals, procuring equipment, installing it, and meeting cost and time targets.
  • Participate in product and process design reviews to help improve product quality and lower production costs.
  • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing and maintenance functions to solve chronic or complex problems.
  • Develop and implement control systems projects for tooling and equipment to achieve project objectives while meeting cost and time targets.
  • Support standardization initiatives by specifying and purchasing similar controls equipment, components, and participating in standards development.
