About The Position

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to enhance manufacturing productivity and efficiency through the analysis, design, and implementation of tools, processes, and equipment. The role involves rotating between projects and departments to gain exposure to various manufacturing processes. Skills will be developed in Lean tools, Ergonomic Improvement, Layout Generation & PFEP, Jig & Fixture Design, Manufacturing Process Creation, and Work Instruction Development.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, or other relevant technical fields, from an accredited university.
Training with AutoCAD or other layout and design software.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of value stream mapping, problem solving, facilitation and Lean principles and tools.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
Hands-on Mechanical skills, through hobbyist or semiformal training

Responsibilities

Analyze and design manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials and gathering input from operators, stakeholders, and equipment manufacturers.
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Assist with managing capital expenditures as assigned to include project identification, justification and completion.
Delivery on productivity targets as outlined in the annual operating plan.
