Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred)
  • Equivalent experience in skilled trades or related fields will be considered
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant manufacturing or engineering experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical drawing management
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean methodologies
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to support capital projects and cross-functional initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Makes and packages lab/pilot scale batches following instructions and safe lab practices
  • Operates related equipment involving in making products from lab to production scale.
  • Reviews orders including raw materials availability and plan accordingly to meet product ship date
  • Carries out experiments provided by project leader or manager.
  • Collects and consolidates data during experiments and effectively communicates results with key stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Conducts raw material and equipment evaluations and make recommendations to promote product quality and process safety and efficiency.
  • Supports the scaling of the production process from pilot to high volume manufacturing with activities including the development of robust manufacturing instructions, validation of full-scale batches, and training for manufacturing operators.
  • Conducts and manages shelf-life study and provides update to team.
  • Enters process and product waivers as required.
  • Manages equipment calibration record.
  • Operates equipment and follows procedures in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
