About The Position

The career level Manufacturing Engineer-Gear Machining will be skilled in manufacturing equipment, tooling and process improvements, and overall manufacturing process support. The work is performed in a manufacturing environment where innovation, creativity and initiative are used to support current manufacturing operations. The work will be focused on hypoid bevel gear machining and grinding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering support role in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing
  • Prior experience with CNC machining and or programming
  • Previous experience with computer- based office and engineering software, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
  • Ability to work off shifts and weekends as well as overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of high-volume precision grinding and machining
  • Knowledge of hypoid bevel gear manufacturing
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks

Responsibilities

  • Research and implement innovative technologies and/or processes
  • Ensure all manufacturing technical documentation is up to date.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight of internal resources and external vendor resources.
  • Assist team members in problem solving and improving overall equipment efficiency.
  • Provide day-to-day support of manufacturing operations and maintenance.
  • Work with cross functional team members to resolve issues related to quality, process, and equipment.
  • Participate in identifying and resolving safety and ergonomics issues.
  • Facilitate and/or train team members and maintenance personnel. Develop training manuals as needed.
  • Participate in planning and coordination activities to ensure all project tasks are completed within prescribed time frame and budget parameters.
