About The Position

A manufacturing company that produces assembled metal products is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize processes and support product lines. This role involves leading manufacturing projects with a safety-first approach, championing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives, and working on capital improvement projects, machinery, and plant layout. The position also includes developing manufacturing processes for new or improved products and implementing automation where practical. Some travel between manufacturing facilities is required.

Requirements

At least two years of experience developing manufacturing methods, procedures, processes in a production environment.
Knowledge about safety practices, inspections.
In-depth knowledge of materials and mechanics, with application to production systems and tooling.
Experience with continuous improvement, lean principles, and value stream mapping in a manufacturing environment.
Some experience with 3D CAD systems.
Permanent authorization to work in the US (Green card holders and US Citizens only).

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with mechanical designs and manufacturing.
Familiarity with PLC-based production systems.
Experience with welding is a plus.
Bachelors' degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or similar is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Working with a safety-first approach, lead manufacturing projects, coordinating both internal and external resources to meet KPI’s.
Champion continuous improvement and lean manufacturing ideas that improve production costs, volumes, and quality.
Work on capital improvement projects, machinery improvement, plant layout. Work with vendors and contractors on equipment installations.
Lead manufacturing process development for new or improved products
Implement ideas for robotics and automation, where practical. Familiarity with PLC-based production systems is a plus.
