About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer - Electromechanical Systems plans, develops, implements, and supports manufacturing processes, production test systems, calibration methods, and troubleshooting for electromechanical systems and assemblies. The position supports new product introduction, production ramp-up, product builds, failure analysis, and continuous improvement. The engineer serves as the primary technical interface between Product Development and Manufacturing, helping ensure products are manufacturable, testable, reliable, and production-ready. The role also drives improvements in quality, efficiency, and operational performance and includes 10–15% domestic and international travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Seven or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering, controls engineering, electromechanical systems, product testing, new product introduction, production support, or related engineering roles.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, bills of material, technical specifications, and test procedures.
  • Experience supporting integration, testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing of electromechanical products and systems.
  • Experience using diagnostic, testing, calibration, and measurement equipment for validation, troubleshooting, and production activities.
  • Working knowledge of industrial controls, automation, communication systems, data acquisition systems, PLCs, motion control systems, instrumentation, or automated test equipment.
  • Experience in low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments and supporting new product introduction, production ramp-up, and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, validate, and improve production test systems, fixtures, calibration methods, firmware-loading processes, and validation procedures.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Quality on manufacturing requirements, test strategies, build plans, calibration processes, and production readiness for new products.
  • Develop, validate, and improve manufacturing processes for electromechanical assemblies and systems; create and maintain assembly procedures, manufacturing documentation, and work instructions.
  • Provide hands-on support for product, pilot, and prototype builds and production ramp-up; identify manufacturing risks and implement solutions to improve quality, manufacturability, testability, and efficiency.
  • Assist Product Development Engineering with initial manufacturing documentation and, following product release, maintain, improve, and implement those documents.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, instrumentation, firmware configuration, and test-related production issues; coordinate resolution with relevant teams and suppliers.
  • Perform system-level testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and verification of sensors, actuators, instrumentation, communication systems, embedded controllers, control systems, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Analyze manufacturing and test data, lead root-cause investigations, perform failure analysis on non-conforming products, support NCR investigations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support engineering-change implementation, manufacturing validation, revision updates, and configuration control; own manufacturing implementation of approved changes after product release.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve component, assembly, quality, calibration, testing, and manufacturing issues; support first article inspections, qualification, and corrective-action investigations.
  • Serve as the technical interface between Product Development and Manufacturing and coordinate issue resolution across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support manufacturability and readiness reviews and production deployment activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel domestically and internationally 10–15%.
