About The Position

Amrep Manufacturing Company, LLC (a Wastequip company) seeks a Manufacturing Engineer in Ontario, CA to develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods according to product specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related engineering discipline.
  • Six (6) months of experience in mechanical engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD Modeling/Drawings.
  • Experience with DraftSight.
  • Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
  • Experience performing calculations with large volumes of numerical data in Excel to analyze and streamline manufacturing processes and conduct assembly and part cost analysis to increase overall profitability.
  • Knowledge of CNC machines.
  • Knowledge of manual lathes.
  • Knowledge of manual mills, sheet metal fabrication, and Mig welding.
  • Completion of a background check, sex offender registry screening, and a drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Performing research, design and development of manufacturing engineering processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
  • Preparing and maintaining detailed engineering layouts of buildings and equipment.
  • Coordinating the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
  • Designing and developing tests and/or sources and cost justifications for various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Performing product/process engineering analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.
  • Representing manufacturing engineering on cross-functional teams.
