The manufacturing engineer will provide support for the Fort Smith motor plant. The role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, ensuring workplace safety, and driving efficiency through Lean and Six Sigma principles. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required)
  • minimum 2 years experience (preferred)
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong project management and technical writing skills
  • experience with Gantt charts, critical path method (CPM), cost estimation and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint (Advanced Excel), AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3D prototyping tools.
  • Ability to creatively apply existing and emerging technologies to enhance manufacturing systems, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma and/or PMP Certifications.
  • Winding experience with industrial electric motors

Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Support production by troubleshooting equipment and resolving manufacturing issues.
  • Manage projects from design through installation, including capital justifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve productivity and standardize work practices.
