About The Position

A dynamic position that will allow engineers to display problem solving, communication and leadership skills by working with a diverse group of individuals within VOME, PD and the assembly plants. This position will familiarize the engineer to tools utilized by Ford overall and tools specific to VOME Paint for tracking warranty and quality. This position will also allow for interaction with both manufacturing and PD Quality teams to drive/understand warranty targets for current and future programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, related sciences or plant equivalent experiences
  • Ability to travel 50% or more including Canada and Mexico.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to lead/direct a team
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision but knowledge of when to ask for assistance
  • Ability to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints
  • Energetic individual that is self-motivated and has passion to be a team member delivering Ford+ behaviors

Responsibilities

  • Assists and coach plants in issues resolution.
  • Review plant scorecard and assist to address "red" items.
  • Lead annual control plan updates and coordinate changes with subject matter expert.
  • Conduct plant paint shop "health" assessments through uniform paint process audit and validation of adherence to control plans.
  • Lead plant related TVM actions/implementations.
  • Support development of future model program quality panels.
  • Lead for overall Paint warranty targets and trends.
  • Support forward model engineer in issue resolution.
  • Support annual ISO audits.
  • Support new model launch activities as required.
  • Assist in the development of new/innovative technologies/processes for quality improvement.
  • Assist in development of Business Control Center (BCC) for VOME Paint Engineering.
