About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join an engineering-driven manufacturing operation in Waukesha, WI. This is a hands-on opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working directly with production teams, solving manufacturing challenges, improving processes, and helping bring new products from concept through full-scale production. You’ll play a key role supporting bronze foundry and CNC turning operations, with responsibility for improving manufacturing processes, optimizing equipment and cycle times, supporting new product launches, and driving continuous improvement throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in machining, metalworking, metal casting, or a similar production environment.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling and drafting; SolidWorks preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and manufacturing problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ability and willingness to work directly on the plant floor and collaborate with production teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with non-ferrous metals, bronze, foundry processes, or metallurgy.
  • Background in spun, centrifugal, or static casting.
  • Experience with CNC turning and precision machining.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience with Epicor or another manufacturing ERP system.

Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, and implement efficient, repeatable manufacturing processes for precision bronze and alloy components.
  • Develop and improve machine cycle times, production layouts, standardized work, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
  • Design, test, and implement new foundry dies using SolidWorks.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support for CNC turning operations and assist with troubleshooting first-article and production parts.
  • Partner with CNC programmers and production personnel to resolve machining and process issues.
  • Lead manufacturing activities associated with new product introduction (NPI), taking products from prototype through full-scale production.
  • Support engineering changes while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.
  • Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen, 6S, Value Stream Mapping, and waste reduction.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, downtime, setup times, and other sources of manufacturing inefficiency.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and corrective action using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone analysis.
  • Perform process audits and failure analysis related to manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Work closely with production, quality, metallurgy, safety, and other cross-functional teams to improve processes, ergonomics, safety, and overall plant performance.
