About The Position

CZM USA is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support and continuously improve our advanced fabrication operations in Ellabell, Georgia. This role is central to the production of heavy structural steel components, including masts, frames, booms, Kelly bars, and related assemblies for the foundation drilling equipment. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes across plasma cutting, press braking, robotic welding, and CNC machining — working at the intersection of engineering, automation, and lean production in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or fabrication engineering role (required).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent); ability to read and interpret GD&T drawings.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming.
  • Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 structural welding code and WPS/PQR fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on orientation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across engineering, production, and quality teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, growing environment.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment on an active production floor.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or specialization in manufacturing processes, materials science, welding engineering, or industrial automation is a plus.
  • Direct experience with any two or more of the following: plasma cutting, press braking, robotic welding, or CNC machining in a structural steel or heavy equipment environment strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with robotic programming environments (Yaskawa MotoSim, OTC DTPS, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in the heavy fabrication industries.
  • Experience with welding cell commissioning or integration projects.
  • Knowledge of plate processing, material handling, and vertical storage systems for heavy steel.

Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturing jigs for fabrication, welding, and machining.
  • Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing process plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all fabrication operations.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across cutting, forming, welding, and machining processes to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework.
  • Support production engineers and operators in resolving day-to-day technical issues and non-conformances.
  • Establish admonitory process parameters, tolerances, and quality checkpoints.
  • Collaborate with CZM USA engineering and quality teams to support design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews and new product introductions.
  • Participate in FMEA, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective action processes.
  • Support capital equipment installation and start up activities.
  • Maintain engineering change order (ECO) documentation and revision control in the ERP/PLM system.
  • Train production personnel on new processes, tooling, and quality requirements.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and observed holidays.
  • Professional development support, including technical certifications and training.
