About The Position

Ellsworth Adhesives, a global, industry-leading distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment and adhesive manufacturer, has a Manufacturing Engineer opportunity. This role reports into EDS, an Ellsworth Corporation company located in Sparks, NV. This is an on-site role, and candidates must be able to reliably commute to the facility in Sparks, NV. This role develops and optimizes manufacturing processes and systems for assigned Business Unit(s), including package design, equipment qualification and layout, workflow and workforce utilization. It also supports the production team by sharing technical expertise, providing guidance and mentorship.

Requirements

  • 3 years of industrial or manufacturing engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by developing alternative solutions
  • Able to works well in group problem-solving situations
  • Proven skills in synthesizing complex and diverse information to make decisions to maximize efficiencies and mitigate risk
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement efforts

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes and workflows for a Business Unit(s) to improve quality, efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiencies, and reduce costs
  • Regularly provides guidance, training, and technical support to the Production Team and third-party packaging suppliers
  • Provides support to Quality Department in manufacturing-related quality issues to determine root causes and take corrective actions
  • Estimates labor costs or standard production rates to quoting and improve processes where labor variances are identified
  • Performs manufacturing qualification on new, replacement or alternative components
  • Facilitates design of customer packaging solutions with both internal and external customers
  • Researches, recommends and qualifies new manufacturing equipment, layout, workflow and workforce utilization
  • Determines equipment, parts and tools needed for production
