About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer is accountable for the successful development, execution and completion of plant/system improvements, achieving objectives that include prioritized action lists, schedule task events, and coordination of all affected internal departments. This position is responsible for directing the improvement of current transactional and manufacturing processes. This includes understanding the business, and making recommendations for improvements based on logic, calculation, or generally accepted IE theories.

Requirements

  • Two or more years in manufacturing environment within an industrial manufacturing facility preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associates degree or Bachelors degree in an Engineering or other technical discipline is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to process information, fabricate, and assemble products while promoting efficient utilization within MRP II system with Lean techniques.
  • Communicate with management and user personnel to develop a list of detailed improvements and a prioritized implementation plan.
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  • Estimate production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control.
  • Draft and design process flows, equipment layout, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer.
  • Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs.
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
  • Confer with clients, vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
  • Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results.
  • Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Support peers and management with internal and external projects.
  • Adhere to company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
