Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in an optical, photonics, or semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with process development, equipment selection, and tooling design.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen or National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, Refugee, or Temporary Resident granted amnesty).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling for optical component production.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.
  • Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and test procedures.
  • Lead and participate in troubleshooting activities for manufacturing issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Design Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure manufacturability of new products and smooth transitions from development to production.
  • Perform statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis to monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and qualify new materials and components for manufacturing applications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company quality standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel.
