About The Position

Radial Solutions Inc., (RSi) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support NASA's Marshall Engineering Technicians and Trades Support contract (METTS). This role focuses on developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and methods to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering teams to resolve issues and implement sustainable process improvements. The position may require occasional overtime and support for second or third shifts to ensure 24/7 onsite or on-call coverage as dictated by customer needs and contract requirements.

Requirements

• Machine Shop/Midsize manufacturing/production
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, mathematics, or similar.
• Equivalent of a BS with approximately 5 years’ experience (Engineer II)
• Equivalent of a BS with approximately 10 years' experience (Engineer III)
• Must be able to pass a MSFC physical examination for any required safety-related certifications.
• All positions supporting the METTS III contract require successful completion of NASA medical screenings at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
• Must adhere to MSFC and OSHA safety requirements, including use of appropriate PPE when necessary and follow written technical procedures.
• May require walking, bending, climbing stairs, and navigating shop/machine work areas
• Sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to forty pounds on an occasional basis
• Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust background investigation for government issues credentials and IT access/applicants must be able to pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements.
• You will be required to provide two (2) forms of Federal I9 documents.
• You will be required to provide a REAL ID compliant identification to gain access to RSA and MSFC.
• Your name must match on both forms of ID, be original (no copies/digital), and be unexpired.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Identifies opportunities to improve products or reduce costs.
• Determines root causes of failures and recommends changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
• Incorporates new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
• Supervises technicians, technologists, analysts, administrative staff, or other engineers.
• Troubleshoots new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
• Reviews product designs for manufacturability or completeness.
• Trains production personnel in new or existing methods.
• Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
• Designs, installs, or troubleshoots manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to interface with customers/teammates at all levels.
