About The Position

This position is 2nd shift, with hours from 3 PM to 11 PM. The role is technical in nature, requiring independent judgment and problem-solving skills within a manufacturing plant environment. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for analyzing data to support cost reductions and tool life improvements, troubleshooting equipment, and implementing permanent corrective solutions. This role involves working autonomously with occasional guidance, collaborating across multiple functions, training others, and assigning work to a small group of employees. The successful candidate will serve as the tooling and gaging point of contact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical ability including experience with structured technical problem; can include RedX or Design for Six Sigma methods.
  • Work in a Team Environment to understand Product, Processes, and Failure Modes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and difficult projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
  • Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
  • Proven ability in managing large and complex projects
  • Experience in troubleshooting production equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with gear and aluminum machining, assembly processes, and testing and verification systems

Responsibilities

  • Supports continuous improvement projects
  • Approval of process documentation
  • Diagnose, analyze, and document emergent tooling issues
  • Creation of Engineering sufficiency plans as required
  • Ensure supply base adheres to GM standards and quality and manufacturing processes are enabled
  • Design, analyze and implement product or machinery designs for best method for manufacturing processes
  • Propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned area
  • Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area
  • Provide direction to small group of technical employees
  • Responsible to evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment
