Manufacturing Engineer
About The Position
ITW Drawform is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations throughout the facility. This role is focused on developing a deep understanding of customer needs and application requirements and translating those needs into effective manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with operations to develop, implement, and improve processes related to washing, robotics, packing, material movement, and material staging. With responsibility for material flow from the point it enters the facility until the point it exits the facility, this position plays a key role in ensuring efficient and effective operations while supporting customer requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mfg. Engineering required.
- 5 – 7 Years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience required: Robotics, Machining, Wash, Part Handling, Equipment Launches.
- Industrial engineering with some mechanical engineering ideal.
- Familiarity with Solidworks and Autocad.
- Previous Project Launch and Program Management experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a metal stamping and parts washing environment a plus.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and implement measurable production processes within the specified time frame, and recommend improvements and cost reduction strategies.
- Assist in determining material handling, storage, and flow requirements.
- Develop and maintain production layouts and prepare alternatives on the CAD program.
- Investigate and specify the resources required to perform new processes.
- Assist with capital expenditure planning, may manage vendors to meet timelines and budgets.
- Input and maintain routings, bills of material, and FMEA’s.
- Assist outside processors with the start-up and troubleshooting of processes.
- Develop, document and maintain process plans and machine operating instructions.
- Maintain customer specifications.
- Coordinate the delivery, set-up and start-up of new equipment.
- Develop and coordinate the preventative maintenance program.
- Assist with the APQP process on new programs.
