About The Position

Kratos Industries is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead BOM validation, kit readiness, and production process definition within our advanced electrical equipment manufacturing operations. This role will focus on ensuring engineering output is accurate, complete, and executable in production. We are specifically seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who has worked directly in production environments, not solely supporting design, but ensuring product is buildable, repeatable, and aligned to real assembly conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly-focused engineering roles
  • Direct, hands-on experience performing: BOM validation and material alignment, Work instruction development, Assembly process definition, Production support in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems (JobBoss or similar)
  • Experience working in industrial equipment, or other high-precision manufacturing environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-mix, low-to-mid volume manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated success reducing production disruptions tied to BOM or material issues
  • Experience supporting kitting strategies and material readiness processes
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience working closely with Assembly, Supply Chain, and Quality teams in a production environment
  • Proven ability to improve build quality and consistency through process definition

Responsibilities

  • Validate BOMs at job release to ensure alignment between engineering models, JobBoss, and physical build requirements
  • Identify and resolve alternates, gaps, and inconsistencies prior to kit release
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure pick lists reflect true production needs
  • Reduce material-related disruptions during assembly builds
  • Support development and enforcement of formal kit verification processes
  • Ensure kits are complete, accurate, and build-ready prior to release
  • Drive improvements in clean start performance across all production lines
  • Define how products are built at the line level, including build sequence and key constraints
  • Ensure processes reflect actual production conditions and flow
  • Partner with leadership to align process with layout and material presentation
  • Develop clear, operator-focused work instructions tied to validated BOMs and actual build flow
  • Prioritize critical-to-quality steps and known failure points
  • Support transition from tacit knowledge to structured, repeatable processes
  • Act as first-line engineering support for assembly-related issues
  • Participate in Tier 2 escalation and drive closure of BOM, material, and process-related problems
  • Work directly with technicians and leaders to resolve build issues in real time
  • Identify gaps between engineering output and production execution
  • Improve BOM structure, material flow clarity, and process definition
  • Partner with Industrial Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to improve first-pass yield and reduce rework
