About The Position

This role will be based in Tulsa, Oklahoma in a state-of-the-art facility with best-in-class design and assembly capabilities with a dedicated team eager to solve complex protective packaging issues. Reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Machine assembly experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and associated technical drawings
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and components used in industrial machinery
  • 3D CAD / drawing familiarity (SolidWorks preferred)
  • SAP viewing and retrieving data or other ERP systems
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Proactive approach to problem solving, utilizing tools like 8D root cause analysis
  • Ability and willingness to work hands-on with projects
  • Problem solving focus and the ability to think creatively troubleshoot machine issues, design constraints, and other roadblocks
  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively
  • A self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with employees, staff, management, etc.
  • Familiarity with PLC/electromechanical systems

Nice To Haves

  • Green Belt Lean/Six Sigma certification or 3 years working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles and tools required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct studies that determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and recommends methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
  • Validate BOMs, work instructions, and other documentation against production and customer requirements
  • Analyze production processes, methods, and other data to optimize production
  • Identify opportunities to standardize improvements to machine assembly and apply them to other applicable applications across various machine platforms.
  • Resolve issues and delays in production using independent judgment and discretion
  • Collaborate with remote engineering teams to prepare new machines for production release
  • Aid QA department with process improvement and manufacturing work instruction updates
  • Create and modify work instructions
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency, using a lean six-sigma and industrial engineering approach
  • Assist in design of assembly fixtures and jigs to aid the assembly process
  • Work closely with vendors for manufacturing fixture and test equipment development
  • Translate 3-D assembly models and detailed assembly drawings into manufacturing, along with identified CTQ’s (Critical To Quality)
  • Participate in DFMEA and DFA reviews with design engineering and drive PFMEA, particularly for new products and significant design changes
  • Balance multiple projects concurrently
  • Execute implementation of engineering changes into production
  • Domestic travel will be required periodically
