About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer supports production operations by developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes, tools, and workflows. This role ensures products are built efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality, cost, and delivery targets while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Typically 2+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and production issues.
  • Knowledge of root-cause analysis and corrective-action methodologies.
  • Understanding of manufacturing process controls and continuous-improvement principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on manufacturing environment and communicate with production personnel at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily manufacturing engineering support to production operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, routings, and process documentation.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly issues and provide timely technical solutions to minimize production disruptions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for manufacturing problems.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material (BOMs), and other technical documentation.
  • Support implementation of engineering changes and ensure changes are properly incorporated into manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing tooling, fixtures, equipment, and assembly methods.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, cycle time, cost, and safety.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Work closely with Quality Engineering to investigate nonconforming material and resolve production quality issues.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition of new or modified products into production.
  • Assist in developing PFMEAs, process controls, standard work, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Analyze manufacturing and production data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing technicians, assemblers, and operators.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and other organizations to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with Collins Aerospace, customer, regulatory, and applicable aerospace quality requirements.
