About The Position

The ASRaymond Manufacturing Engineer will optimize production workflows and eliminate waste through leading continuous improvement projects across the assembly and distribution work cells. This role will collaborate with operations, quality, product engineering and supply chain to improve quality, increase on-time delivery and reduce costs across assembly and distribution processes. The Manufacturing Engineer, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, will be an integral member of the operations leadership team.

Requirements

  • Five or more years in operations, distribution and continuous improvement engineering role, using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to read/understand technical material, engineering drawings, and industry standards is required.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to details required.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet established deadlines to support customer requirements.
  • Strong proactive and responsive communication and customer service skills, both in written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels internally and externally to the organization.
  • Experience outlining manufacturing processes for parts and assemblies and providing work instruction to manufacturing.
  • Lean manufacturing experience required.
  • Strong scheduling and organizing skills to complete assigned functions.
  • Proficient at reading, analyzing and interpreting customer drawings, specifications, procedures, and standards.
  • Proficient with computer systems, including Microsoft Office.

  • M3 ERP system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create efficient process flow of raw materials, components and finished goods throughout warehouse.
  • Analyze production lines to find bottlenecks, reduce cycle times, and improve material flow.
  • Lead LEAN initiatives including, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S organization, Kaizen events, and root-cause problem solving to drive improvements throughout the value chain.
  • Conduct time studies, norm analysis, and statistical process control to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Create and maintain clear work instructions, error-proofing devices, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with operations, engineering and supply chain to efficiently implement key initiatives and project.
  • Develop KPIs to continuously track improvements in the assembly and distribution businesses.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend product improvements and specific designs that will meet customer requirements or support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Perform duties related to the CAD/CAM role, as needed, including producing programs, designs, and training others to effectively use established systems and resources.
